Neo Plate – Dove Grey with crocheted impression.

Light impression created with my nana’s crocheted doily which she gifted regularly to her grandchildren to create connection with the past.

Neo is our matte glaze with an iron rim dip, a subtle glitch in the matrix to add a bit of edginess and individuality to this range.

A minimalist light grey, small plate to enhance the everyday celebration of food.  Perfect for dessert, small toast plate or ornamental planter base

Description

Neo Plate – Dove Grey (slightly satin finish) with white crackle rim dim for subtle contrast effect.

I used some doilies that my nana made when I was younger, she crocheted for all of her grandchildren and although I didn’t appreciate them at the time, I feel her in these pieces now and it’s a nice connection to her memory.  I have created a soft impression in the clay then glazed the impression for some texture.

Made  using a white clay.  A small plate for cake, or a piece of toast or nibbles.

Please note that there are little sleights of hand in all ceramics, which is all part of the perfect imperfect beauty of handmade.
